Examly is an AI-powered study assistant that simulates oral exam sessions to help you practice and prepare. Here's how to get started in minutes:

When you start a session, Examly sends your study material to Anthropic's Claude AI, which generates oral exam questions tailored to your content and difficulty level. The AI professor reads each question aloud (or displays it if muted). You answer by speaking, and the AI evaluates each answer. At the end, you receive an overall grade out of 10 and detailed feedback.
Free users can start up to 3 exam sessions per day and 1 flashcard study session per day. You can also earn additional sessions by watching a short rewarded ad. Premium subscribers enjoy unlimited sessions with no restrictions.
Yes. Your study documents, flashcards, and exam session details are stored exclusively on your device (not in the cloud). Only the text content is temporarily sent to the AI during a session to generate questions — it is not permanently stored by us or Anthropic. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Make sure Examly has microphone and speech recognition permissions:
  • Go to iPhone Settings → Examly
  • Enable Microphone and Speech Recognition
  • Restart the app and try again
If the problem persists, try speaking in a quieter environment or check that your device microphone is not blocked.
The AI generates questions based only on the study material you upload. For best results:
  • Upload complete and well-organized notes
  • Include definitions, key concepts, dates, and formulas
  • The more detailed your material, the better the questions
Remember: Examly is a practice tool — AI-generated questions may not perfectly match your teacher's exam style. Always supplement with your teacher's guidance.
In the app:
  • Go to Subjects → [Your Subject] → [Your Topic]
  • Tap the + button to add a document
  • Choose PDF to import from Files, Text to type manually, or Photo to scan handwritten notes with OCR
Note: PDF upload and photo OCR are Premium features. Free users can add study material by typing text manually.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel:
  • Open iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
  • Find Examly and tap Cancel Subscription
You will retain Premium access until the end of the current billing period. Alternatively, go to App Store → your profile → Subscriptions.
Open Examly, go to the Paywall screen and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. Your Premium access will be restored automatically.
In the app:
  • Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete All Data
  • This removes all local data (documents, flashcards, sessions) and cloud statistics
To permanently delete your account, email us at appexamply@gmail.com with your registered email address and we will delete your account within 30 days.
Examly supports 7 school systems with 30 levels:
  • 🇮🇹 Italy — Middle School, High School (biennio/triennio), University
  • 🇺🇸 USA — Middle School, Grades 9–12, College
  • 🇬🇧 UK — Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level, University
  • 🇫🇷 France — Collège, Lycée (Seconde/Première/Terminale), Supérieur
  • 🇩🇪 Germany — Mittelschule, Gymnasium, Hochschule
  • 🇪🇸 Spain — ESO, Bachillerato, Universidad
  • 🌍 Other — Middle School, High School, University
You can change your school level anytime in Profile → School Level.
Speech recognition works best when:
  • You are in a quiet environment
  • You speak clearly and at a normal pace
  • Your device language settings match the language of your study material
  • You have a stable internet connection (required for speech recognition)
You can also use the mute button (🔇) during a session to read questions silently and answer by typing if voice recognition is not working well.
Examly is a practice tool designed to help you study more effectively. Like any study aid, results depend on how consistently and thoughtfully you use it. The AI-generated grades in the app are estimates for self-evaluation only and do not predict your actual exam results. We recommend using Examly alongside your teacher's guidance and official study materials.
